At Pawtags NZ, we believe pet ID tags should be more than just practical — they should be a reflection of your pet’s personality, and a vital part of keeping them safe.

PawTags NZ was created from a simple but powerful real-life experience.

My name is Chantelle, and I’ve spent many years working closely with animals. I’m involved with Animal Welfare Network NZ, and I work across Angels Grooming Academy, Angels Grooming Parlour, and Angels Canine Enrichment Centre. I also continue to foster and care for dogs in need whenever I can, giving them a safe place while they wait for their forever homes.

At home, life is just as full of animals. We have Bruce, our much-loved Rottweiler, and Ralph, our Persian cat.

PawTags NZ began because of Ralph.

​

Ralph is an indoor cat, and like many people, I never thought he would need an ID tag. We believed he was completely safe inside.

 

Then one day, he went missing.

​

Thankfully, Ralph was found safe, but the experience was terrifying. It made me realise how quickly things can go wrong, even with the pets we think are safest.

​

After that, Ralph was fitted with a custom tag — it changed the way I saw pet safety forever.

​

It also made me think about how many pets go missing every year. Thousands become lost, and many are never reunited with their families. One of the biggest reasons is simple: they aren’t wearing identification.

That’s why Pawtags NZ exists.

​

Our mission is to help prevent that heartbreak by making sure pets can be easily identified if the unexpected happens.

 

We create fully customisable pet tags that are both practical and personal — designed to reflect each pet’s unique personality while helping keep them safe.
